Not fixed here as I still getting freezes. Windows & all programs apart from game clients & games are on M.2 SSD, game clients & games are on another SSD. Was downloading a game in steam while browsing with chrome & when I clicked the volume icon in system tray the whole system just froze. Mouse cursor was stuck so I pressed ctrl-alt-del to try & get task manager to run but system didn't respond for over 1 minute then after that the system showed the ctrl-alt-del screen.

This is on a clean install of the anniversary update with latest drivers etc. No freezes with the November update 1511 build. If it still freezes in the next day or two then I will just restore the back I made of the November update. MS really need to do proper beta testing instead of relying on insiders.

Run the free version of HD Sentinel - it will tell you if your HDD is healthy, based on S.M.A.R.T. data.

The drives were tested & are fine with no errors, this is a new PC bought back in April. I have tried installing all drivers like the samsung nvme driver, chipset, Intel RST etc.

I don't know all the stuff you've tried up until now. I've tried so many things I can't remember. Clean installing even.
I get the feeling my freeze issues have been fixed.
I have a sort of similar setup to yours, though mine is lower spec (less ram, 6600k, 390...).

I'm just guessing here, but have you tried mucking with the pagefile size? I've only 16gb of ram. Upping the pagefile to 20gb reduced the frequency. Upping it to 40gb I haven't experienced one.
After that I disabled CPU SVID just for good measure, like another poster suggested.

For some reason my default pagefile was like 3gb or something.

Yep that happened to me once.
When I was playing a game, the game hanged and frozes the whole screen but the cusor and music is still playing...
I give it a forced reboot but after I refused to CHKDISK the loading screen stucks!
I'm getting nuts since The PC I'm using is shared to sombody else!
    WHAT SHOULD I DO?
(Can't reinstall since that will take ages and frustration)

Have been getting these random freezes also since updating to AU. Happens very randomly so I have no idea what causes it, and event viewer doesn't seem to show much apart from a kernel error as always.
