I think I might have solved it for my PC. I disabled fast boot in the BIOS and with that resolved a host of issues with my PC, including this one.

Wow, I didn't realize so many people are having this kind of issue.

I have built 3 different systems in the past year with all these Motherboards and specs.

    My personal build
    ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0
    AMD FX-6300
    NVIDIA Geforce GT 630
    Ultra X3 600W power supply
    4GB 1333 Mhz GSkill Ripjaws RAM DDR3
    250 gb HDD
    2x320 gb hdds
    Logitech keyboard and mouse

    Next system
    ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0
    AMD Phenom II X3 710
    NVIDIA Geforce GT 610
    4Gb GSkill Ripjaws X 1600mhz DDR3
    Thermaltake 450w power supply
    80 GB hdd

    ASUS M5A97 R2.0
    AMD Phenom II X6 1045t
    4GB GSkill Ripjaws X 1600 DDR3
    NVIDIA Geforce GT 620
    Raptor 500w power supply.
    1TB WD Green HDD

Windows 10 runs flawlessly on all systems. No random freezes or hang ups. I saw one person who had an AMD build had freezing issues.

I have a friend who has a new skylake system and nothing but constant problems with it, so I can let him know that's its a widely known issue

I went to the device manager (Win key+x) right-clicked on everything and hit "update driver" then in the pop-up window, hit the top option to "automatically search for updates". The graphics and monitor drivers all needed updates. Since then I haven't had problems

Win 10 is freezing an awful lot on my Intel NUC i3 4010U with 8GB DDR3 1600 and a 120GB SSD. It's driving me crazy.

Win 10 is running just fine on my i5 3550 and i3 6100 PC's, even on my sh** A4 5000 laptop I use for streaming Netflix, Shomi and such on my TV.

My computer has windows 10 and it keeps freezing randomly. The mouse and keyboard both freeze. I am not sure what to do to make it stop. It won't unfreeze on its own so I have to do a forced shut down.

Constant and consistent system hangs are a result of having the incorrect drivers installed (if one did not clean install), a failing HDD, system file corruption, and/or virus/malware (while it could be a result of incompatible software that requires deep hooks within Windows, this is less likely today). If you didn't perform a clean install after upgrading to Windows 10, it's recommended to do so, ensuring you adhere to the proper clean install procedure and driver install order.
    • If one doesn't believe they should have to clean install, then by all means don't... but don't expect anyone with the knowledge of how to troubleshoot one's issue to take the time to do so, as it's pointless to do so on a non-clean installed system.

Some apps need to be uninstalled because they might cause problems with the upgrade process. Especially security programs. You'll be able to reinstall these apps after the upgrade to Windows 10 is done.

Other apps need to be uninstalled because they won't work correctly or might not work at all with Windows 10. You won't be able to reinstall or use these apps after the upgrade is done. Also unplug any usb devices.
    Doesn't WORK!

I built a desktop PC just for Win10 preview!
It worked great until I installed the Win10 Release! Then the freeze started!

I got onto all the Win10 Web sites for answers was long instructions on how to dump files ETC ETC.
    No Solution!

I thought it might be the SSD, so reinstalled Win 10 on HDD! Same thing!
Then I thought it must be Win 10, reinstalled Win 8.1! No Problem!
Reinstalled Win 10 again same problem!

I can't tell you all the things I tried to no avail! This has been going on for almost a year!
I am trying to find the latest BIOS for my ASUS P8Z77-VLX mother board, Non available.

Would be Bad Enough, but I have a second Asus, different model, but same thing.
It only crashes when running Win10! Run OK under Win 8.1!

It only happens on the first boot in the morning, then it is OK!

My solution Is when I boot in the morning, either desktop! I boot, log in & do somthing else & wait till it crashes!
Then Force a shutdown, as the drive light keeps blinking, by pressing & holding the start button until the drive light stops blinking!
    Then restart!!

All the monitor says during this fiasco is "No Connection to the Source. Please Reconnect the Cable".

This situation is most ridicules, because it happens, & no help!

Maybe I should buy, Heave forbid an ALPPLE Sauce Book!

Very disappointed MS fan since I started programming with MS Dos 01! ( DOS- Disk Operating System a 5 1/4" Floppy Disk)
Before that it was a cassette tape player.

Disappointed that in my computer years. never had a problem that I could not solve or find help with!
Even tried spelunking with DOS Command Line!

Even got chastised on this site when I got a little testy!
That was found & warned about, but a solution NO!

Might just as well kick my off, if I can't get help when I desperately need it!

That "Old Fart" Will be 87 on Feb 14th!

So doing the repair reinstall won't achieve the same results as a clean install.. Correct ?

That is correct... A repair install simply replaces most of the files within the Win directory
