I have the same issue, I have tried doing an upgrade then a clean install on two different occasions. It worked without issue for the first day. I made a backup image of PC in working state then on the second day the freezing started and got so bad I could not use the PC. Restored the backup image but freezing continued. For now I have reverted to Win 7
What backup software are you using?
It may not be the reason but I just share the experience. Before the upgrade I am using marcium reflect to backup image and it was installed in Win 7. When I tried to upgrade to Win 10 it would never be upgraded and always prompted error. After I uninstall the backup software then the upgrade was successful.
So I think there is some conflict between Win 10 and the backup software.
Now, I do not install marcium reflect in Win10 but have created a WinPE CD and backup/restore during boot up time.

I've had two freezes within a month on Windows 10 Pro. In both times i was just browsing internet without any heavy background task. This is very sad, I never had a single freeze or BSOD with Windows 7 and same system, and my computer is on almost 24/7.

I gues only way to have stable PC is install Windows 7 back.

    My system is:

    CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K (100% stockm no OC:s)
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V LX (i've seen same mobo in this thread someone else too?)
Memory: 8GB DDR3 (tested with Memtest86 several times, no errors)
Graphics Card: GTX 750Ti (Stock, no OC:s)

In my case freezes are really random, but still annoying. I realy need stable PC, so i ques only solution is to go back Windows 7.

    ...........................
    e: Sorry my bad english.

I'm having the same issues. I think it's MS BS attempt at forced automatic drivers installation. A lot of people have said that it's very buggy.

My install was fine, until the PC wake up from an hibernation ( !!! ) to run an update. After reboot ---> DEAD, freeze , freeze ...

    ( Went back to W7. )

I agree ; MS is pushing bad drivers and kills the machine

Maybe you can try to disable the service or best uninstall it to see if the problem goes away.

Yes, the freeze is random. For my case sometimes I could use for a day then it just stopped working and got to hard reset.
My is an Asus motherboard too. I updated the bios and everything works well now.

Perhaps you can check your bios version. I saw on Asus support website the last bios version is P8Z77-V LX BIOS 2501. Although updating bios is risky but the utility is easy to use and just follow the instruction.

I have read all posts in the last 15 pages and not sure which solution is correct. My new PC also has random freeze and my guess is it may be related to MSI Code issue with Event ID 129. It only happens when I am browsing internet or checking files in File Explorer or just moving the mouse cursor on the desktop. Sometimes it is okay all day long but it may also happen twice a day.

One thing I am sure is that the freeze neven happens when I am playing computer games or doing 100% loading test. That's why I think it should not be a hardware problem like PSU, CPU, MB, GPU, RAM or HDD, etc. It may be a BIOS or driver issue although I am still not sure.

I have tried the solution today and will report the result in a few days.

    Windows 10 Hang

I have been encountering the same problem for a while now.

My laptop seems to have gotten rid of it on its own, but my PC runs into this issue every couple of days.
I have to mention that the PC runs 24/7 and hosts a few VMs and such - and usually its because these VMs no longer respond that I am aware the PC is yet again hanging...

For me, I can still perform some actions. Explorer is a complete no go, I can still reboot the PC although it takes about 25 min to do so: it attempts to reboot, eventually does so, starts up and does a "please wait, windows is configuring your system" thing for a while and then reboots again, after which I can use the system...

I have very little in the sense of programs running on the machine and have removed all of them / reinstalled and reinstalled all the latest drivers / bios updates and such... no fix. :/ this is quite annoying now

Seems like removing f.lux did the trick.
