!! Self made keyboard shortcuts !!

    Hi.

Have just come over from a chromebook to a surface laptop 2 and am really happy with it.

I just want to know about keyboard shortcuts.

I want to assign an internet 'page back' and 'page forward' keys on F1 and F2 like chromebooks do.

I know you can use Alt-left or Alt-right but it doesn't feel natural.

Some have said - just get used to it - but I want to know if Win10 has the power to assign things so specifically.

It's a powerful system so I am hoping that it will.

    Can anyone help me out?

Thanks for your time in advance, ste.

SharpKeys can do what you want.

Thanks so much, people are so clever with code, I really appreciate it as I didn't think it was possible.

Can I just ask a question? (I have no real experience with Win 10).

In the attached file there doesn't seem to be any .exe file.

I've tried double clicking on all of them but the don't seem to install.

The only other thing in there is a simple read me telling me what it can do.

Can you tell me what I'm missing?

I downloaded it from here, it was directed from the link you gave me: GitHub - randyrants/sharpkeys: SharpKeys is a utility that manages a Registry key that allows Windows to remap one key to any other key.

Thanks again for your help, appreciate it, !! Self made keyboard shortcuts !!-fn.jpgste :)

On the GitHub webpage, you will see a line of 'tabs'
    46 commits 1 branch 3 releases 7 contributors ms-pl
and you need to click on
    releases
then download either the .msi file or the .zip file [which contains an .exe file] and run the .msi/.exe

    - I chose the zip [.exe] on one computer and I just run that file when I want to [it just runs, it does not install but it does warn you the first time that it needs to alter a Registry key to make itself work properly].
    - I chose the .msi on another computer and that installs the software instead.
I am not aware of any particular advantage of one method over the other. You will be able to use the application either way.

You can ditch the file[s] you downloaded before [they are only of interest to developers].
