Desktop "New" Context Menu Behaving Slow After Upgrade to 1809

While we're it, is there some way to move or add the "create new file" entry straight in the first context menu instead the usual submenu?

I mean, if ever they end up releasing the fix.

Not necessarily the way Windows hard-coded the list though.

For example, the mean would be copy-pasting an user's template file in the active folder then virtually pressing F2. You may launch the script from the right click context menu. Many applications add custom entries such "open with..." straight in the main context menu after you install them, so this time the entry name would be "create a new xxx file". The result may be faster that way.

Have you tried checking what UWP apps you have installed? If you go to the Microsoft Store and click the three dots on the right and choose "My Library"->"Installed" or "All owned". A lot of them come with Windows 10 but it is possible that an installed one is causing the issue. To uninstall search for the app name in the start menu and right click on it. If it isn't one of the built-in UWP apps like Xbox it should have the uninstall option available.

I registered just to say THANK YOU. In my case it was an app called "Unpacker," I guess it has the same problem as the KODI app. Anyway, Thanks again! If you don't have KODI or Unpacker, take a hard look at your other non MS published apps from the Microsoft Store!

Get-AppxPackage *office* | Remove-AppxPackage

Once these apps are removed, wait a few seconds until you can see that the Windows taskbar flickers for a tiny moment. That is the sign that Windows's Explorer acknowledged these changes. Now you can try rightclicking and select "New". Depending on the PC's processor speed, the delay is now either non-existent or at least greatly reduced. Side note: The first three apps in the lines above cause the longest delays.

the final solution is to upgrade ur Win 10 to v1903

and this issue will 100% gone

I just registered to say THANK YOU, this worked exactly as you described it (and indeed you need to wait for the taskbar to flicker out a bit)!

This issue started for me after the 1903 update! Takes about 30 seconds to first open file explorer, or right-click items. I can cut and paste fine using the icons in the ribbon, but right-clicking takes forever!
