It appears your N270 has two logical processors after all, at least according to PassMark's listings. Windows 10 works better with more processors, even logical ones. But its Passmark of 269 is low, my netbook's N2600 is higher at 525 and has acceptable W10 performance for browsing with Firefox and other light use. The machine that felt like "treacle" on W10 (but runs W7 just fine) had a single core/single processor AMD V120. Its Passmark at 622 suggests it should run better, but it seems that W10 really needs more than one processor to thrive.

@CLuckeyJD's Intel Core 2 T5300 has two physical cores and a Passmark of 933, so the cpu at least should be up to running W10.

I stand corrected, yes, the N270 has a single core with two logical ones.

The Windows 7's performance is pretty good since the addition of the internal SSD drive. The exception from this is manipulating/moving large files, where it really shows its age. Any type of scanning for viruses for example is painfully slow. While it does have an A/V and real-time protection enabled, a full virus scan is done outside of the Netbook by removing the the internal drive and mounting it to my PC via USB 3.1, or eSATA port.

The Pathmark score of 260 for the N270 is about half what your N2600 has. It seems to me that updating mine to Windows 10 would quickly result in restoring Windows 7 from the backup image. The whole process probably would take at least couple of hours, not to mention that the Windows 10 update may fail...
