General question about ffmpeg

Hello,
I am just curious and could not find an answer, so I'll ask here, please.
Have some multimedia programs (video and audio) all portables. Each one has "ffmpeg,exe" in its folder.
But file sizes are different: 269 kb to 448 kb, and one even 34,334 kb. Recently downloaded a new version
file size 60,066 kb.
Why the differences, isn't it the same ffmpeg.exe ?

the ffmpeg.exe files.

Try this: in each folder that contains ffmpeg.exe: Shift + right click on an empty space, then click Open PowerShell window here or Open command window here, then type this:

.\ffmpeg.exe -version

Checked as instructed. Each one is another version, there are no two the same version.
Why such differences ?

FFmpeg is an open source multi platform multimedia project. It is possible that the makers of each of the multimedia programs that you have, have compiled it to suit their own requirements, plus they may have used different versions of the various modules at compilation time. Also, some of them may have excluded modules that do not serve any purpose for what they need in their own programs. Note that the ffmpeg program modules are continually being updated to meet modern multimedia demands or to provide new settings and so forth, and as such newer versions are getting relatively larger in size too.

Das10 is correct. Each FFmpeg will tell you exactly what version and modules it contains. Just open a command prompt, go to the folder containing a particular copy and type the command ffmpeg on its own.
