I also very much disliked Win 10 when I first saw it after first release. At that point everything was borderless and white- so you couldn't tell where one window ended and another began when overlaid.

I use Aeroglass - 3rd party- to make title bars and borders semi-opaque, rounded corners, a bit like '7. And I use - like many here- Classic Shell (now Open Shell) start menu - Win 10 style menus simply don't cope with larger deeply nested start menus- they flatten them out after about 3 folders deep.

I avoid apps mostly and use downloaded programs.

And I've stayed with 1709. The 6 month feature upgrades are becoming a joke.

Yep, my desktop and Start Menu have always looked almost the same since XP. I hate the Metro (?) style, and thank heavens for Classic Shell.

I also resisted getting into the Store. Right now, unless a better solution pops up, I will have to first focus on the other more important compatibility issues of this new system.

My Dell Inspiron 13-5000 series does, on the lock screen, but not on the login screen.

EDIT: Maybe it's a manufacturer thing, not a Windows thing.

We have the same WiFi and battery icons displayed on lock screen. I can't tell how much of the power is left with that, that's why I have to look for a more informative badge (?).

I was finally able to logon to Store. Kirik Battery was unavailable so I tried some others. So far, it seems the 15-minute limitation (?) is keeping the badges from showing more accurate info. Not sure about this though, still checking. Also, some apps simply aren't even updating.

It's part of a 3rd party backup program- not Windows Timeline.

Prog is GenieTimeline - not of particular interest. I got it as a giveaway just to have a look.
