Had you downloaded fresh drivers from the Asus website after the reset save files?

Open device manager > click view > show hidden devices > manually expand all rows > look for any row displaying a yellow triangle with a black exclamation mark or unknown device > post an image into the thread

Run the BETA log collector and post a zip into this thread:

    (Use extract all > open)

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    sfc /scannow
    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    chkdsk /scan
When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the th
Here's the zip file, I'll post the info on the command prompt later since it's still not finished: LAPTOP-IMQDDN57-Wed_10_17_2018_142205_96.zip

Edit: I did not download any drivers from ASUS website yet and I did not find any devices, either unknown or with a yellow triangle, in device manager.

There are two log collectors: DM and BETA
    The DM was posted.
The BETA log collector will collect more useful logs.
Please run it using extract all > open

I just use Disk Clean-up > Clean up system files and select "Previous Windows installation(s)".
There is also other stuff in there that you can safely clean up.

The BIOS: BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. FX570UD.302, 1/8/2018

    Upgrade the BIOS:
    Version 307
    2018/06/214.38 MBytes
    BIOS 307
    Optimize system performance
ASUS Laptop X570UD Driver & Tools | Laptops | ASUS Global

The computer has two GPU: Intel and Nvidia.
The Asus website only has Intel GPU.
Open IE or a browser that uses Java > run the Nvidia auto detector:
    NVIDIA

After downloading drivers from the Asus website perform Windows updates.
Then download and install the Intel driver assistant to see if there are other drivers:

    The RAM modules are mismatched.
In the future it is always better to use RAM in pairs.
The exception is when purchasing additional RAM from the computer manufacturer as they have already tested the compatibility of the two manufacturers.

    Download and install: Everything: voidtools

Search for this file: PdcLockWatchdog-20181016-2023.dmp > zip > post share link
Post a share link into the thread (one drive, drop box, or google drive)

    Code:

Will keep this in mind. I thought brands do not matter as long as they have the same RAM speeds. Looks like I need to do some more research.
Here's the file, sorry it took a while: PdcLockWatchdog-20181016-2023.zip - Google Drive

What is the status of the audio now?

There was corruption in the dump file.
So if in the future there are any unexpected restarts or shutdowns you can open a new thread.

    Code:
    PDC_LOCK_WATCHDOG_LIVEDUMP (17c)
A thread has been holding the PDC lock for too long
(This code can never be used for a real bugcheck.)
    Arguments:
Arg1: ffffdf013cc21040, The thread holding the PDC lock.
Arg2: 0000000000002710, Lock watchdog timeout in milliseconds.
    Arg3: 0000000000000000, Reserved.
    Arg4: 0000000000000000, Reserved.

    Debugging Details:
    ------------------

***** Debugger could not find nt in module list, module list might be corrupt, error 0x80070057

    Hi folks
Take system backup with say Macrium free
then you can get rid of windows.old
If you need to recover / restore your system -- simply restore the image backup you made with Macrium.

I'm surprised people bother with keeping windows.old any more.

The only time it seems to be used is if during an update (usually a Windows version / large update) you get a fail then it rolls back the update . Once update has completed you can safely delete. Use the Disk cleanup (right mouse click on "C".

I'm sure others have suggested this too -- worth repeating though as everybody should always take timely backups and decent software is 100% free so no excuse for not doing.

    Cheers
