    For clarification, I want to state that the advanced settings for "Open sites with apps" is kind of misleading:

    Actually with that setting toggled to on, you can set a website to use the app instead of going directly to the website.

    I think I get it now

    So basically instead of opening the maps website, it will open the default windows maps app.
    Instead of twitter website, it will open the twitter app.

    There's more settings if you click Choose which sites open in apps..
