Research indicated that VTRoot is a hidden file in Comodo, and the saving of the BSOD file there was likely related to the Comodo pop-up which I have been seeing recently, and which mean nothing to me.
FYI: That's Comodo sandbox. Resetting the sandbox and disabling it removes the directory.

Thank you. I had been too busy to look into this, and thought that your post gave me the needed information. However, I just opened Comodo, and don't see anything about Sandbox Tasks.

I don't know which version of CFW you use but try switching to advanced view or else right click the system tray icon and see if there are sandbox options listed there.

From CFW Home screen click "Tasks" > "Sandbox Tasks"

FYI: If you are using the most recent version of CFW (with Comodo Internet Security) then check this:

Reset The Container, Container Computer Security, Network Access | Internet Security

Sandbox is "Container" in newer versions.

EDIT: After resetting Container - disable it then test.

Comodo Internet Security Enable / Disable AV, Firewall, Auto-Containment, VirusScope, Website Filter

As always, thanks. I reset the Container. For the rest, said to click on the icon, and I can only admit that I had totally ignored some of the entries on that menu. Auto-Containment, VirusScope, and Website Filter all all active; should I disabled them and leave them that way? There is no entry for AV. I suspect that some of those entries must be relatively new, as it has only been fairly recently that I have see a pop-up about containment. I wondered about that, but have simply failed to do any investigating.

Well I'm using an old version of Comodo Firewall and my preference is to disable sandbox (container) and only enable it at those times when I actually want to run a program sandboxed for testing. After testing - it gets reset and disabled again.

As for Virusscope and Website Filter - I disable those but have other protection in place.

For the troubleshooting please uninstall all malware software and use only Windows defender.
If the control panel is used residual files can remain in the registry.
When uninstall malware software the uninstall tools need to be used.

    Unisntall:
    Winpatrol
    Comodo
    Superantispyware
    Spywareblaster
    Malwarebytes

After all have been removed make sure that Windows defender is on.

Perform the in place upgrade repair to see if it will fix the problems with msinfo32 NFO.

Then run each the DM and BETA log collectors.
If the files are empty or missing then run again in safe mode.
Programs deleted. ISO run again; this time, infinitely quicker than the previous time. Usual startup oddities, which slowly are disappearing. One noticeable improvement: Opening Word Perfect is again nearly instantaneous. Problem with PaintShop Pro not fixed.

Before reinstalling programs, tried to run DM in normal mode; flashed on screen, went away. Restarted in Safe Mode, tried DM again, same result. Ran TM while I was in Safe Mode.

    1) Open device manager > click view > show hidden devices > manually expand all rows > look for any row displaying a yellow triangle with black exclamation mark or unknown device > post an image into the thread

    2) Uninstall and reinstall Realtek audio:
    RtHDVBg_MAXX6 "c:\program files\realtek\audio\hda\ravbg64.exe" /maxx6 Public HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

    3) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    4) sfc /scannow
    5) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    6) chkdsk /scan
    7) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    RtHDVBg_MAXX6 "c:\program files\realtek\audio\hda\ravbg64.exe" /maxx6 Public HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Step 1: No yellow triangles found.

Step 2: I don't understand this. The Realtex download site does not show ravbg64.exe, nor do I know what to do with the part of your link pertaining to the registry entry.

Dell lists Audio_Driver_956D8_WN32_6.0.1.7908_A06.EXE , File size: 314.02 MB, Description: This package provides the driver for the Realtek High-Definition audio codec and is supported on Inspiron running the following Windows operating systems: Windows 7,Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Odd that it says "Inspiron", but I found it by a search for my XPS8900.

Program Files does show the file you cite, but all of the files there are dated 9/7/2016. Is puzzlement.

I'm going to stop there, wait for your reply, so that I don't get ahead of the rest of your message, and foul up anything further, Control Panel shows "Reaktek High Definition Audio Driver, 38.2 MB, i6.0.1.7908, nstalled 10/22/2018

All drivers that are installed should come from the computer manufacturer's website.
Only if drivers are not listed should they come from the component manufacturer's websites.
Do not use websites that update drivers as you won't know if they install unwanted files.

Please uninstall and reinstall the Realtek audio drivers.
