File Explorer keeps scrolling back to the top.

Updated Win10 Pro to 1809 before file delete issues. Patch was applied last night.

In file explorer, in folders with large number of files, window will refresh back up to the top (approx every 5 seconds).

After searching, the Personalization>Colors>disabling "Automatically pick an accent color from my background" DOES not work.

Also, disabling Slideshow to single background color/picture DOES not work also.

I never had this issue prior to 1809 update. I had clean installed Windows a few weeks before update (without issues) and have not installed any new programs prior or since. Also, I noticed performance would be laggy the longer my PC is running. A reboot every couple hours restores performance.

This issue is frustrating as editing files is nearly impossible if working on files at the end of the folder.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

    Hi,

First, you may create a new user account (Local admin) and see if Explorer and Personalization issues still persist. Perhaps, a corrupted user profile has come with 1809 update (not unusual).
Add Local Account or Microsoft Account in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

About performance issue, you may try to completely uninstall any Antivirus software and see what happens. Many users use more than one Antivirus (not recommended) which sometimes causes "endless battles" to each other with the result of slow performance.

Then of course, you may try SFC /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth commands by opening an elevated (as admin) command prompt.

    Hi HeM.

Update: I tried all of your suggestions without success unfortunately. Your third option did present corrupt files though.

However, I believe the issue was with a 3rd party app called Displayfusion.
Under "Aero Color Settings", the default option was "Change the Aero color based on the current application window".
After changing to "Change the Aero color based on the current wallpaper image", all is well.

As a side note, the Personalization>Colors>disabling "Automatically pick an accent color from my background" also works.

    Thanks again for your time.
