Explorer attribute that shows when files in a sub-folder are modified

The "date modified" attribute only updates when a file in the root of a folder is modified. But it does not update if a file in a sub-folder is modified. Is there an attribute that will show when the contents of sub-folders are modified?

You would need a 3rd party utility to accomplish that.

Probably, the best way to accomplish the aforementioned, would be to find a utility that would enable you to preview folder and sub-folder contents on mouse hover flyout.

One of the best examples of that, (in my opinion), is QTTabBar...

Thanks, I'll look into these. Really wish MS had this as a built in option though.
