    Address Toolbar in Taskbar - strange behaviour after Update to 1809


    I'm using Windows 10 Pro and have just updated to Version 1809 (Os Build 17763.1).
    The Address Toolbar in the Taskbar , which I use very often, now displays the input text the same colour as the box background - so I can't see what I'm typing. I can fix it for the duration of the session by removing the Address Toolbar and then putting it back (right click > Toolbars>Address). But this is only for the duration of the session - the problem is there again when I start my PC again.
    Has anyone any ideas?

    I can think of only one fix/workaround assuming this is a common problem that may work: see:

    I use two methods to control background colours.
    1. a simple registry hack, widely documented - or use SMACC by superfly from this forum
    2. Qttabbar (free) by Quizo. One of the things it allows is to set background colours for different regions

    Without fiddling I can't be sure which colours the background of the toolbar when it's in focus (colour changes when I click on it).

    Hi , Thanks for your reply. I have no doubt that I can fix things by using the methods you suggest. But of course, I shouldn't have to. I'm mwondering whether it might be the fact that I'm using Firefox (a little Firefox icon aapears at the LHS of the address bar). I'm surprised that I can't find any reference to the bug online.
