%appdata% on Failed Drive | Move Thunderbird Profile to New Drive

I have found some discussions on this but none are very clear.

It seems that the only way to access a profile on the old drive is through %appdata% from the Run menu.

The run then %appdata% works on my current machine.

But I have not been able to figure out how to search for %appdata%
in the old drive from the new drive.

Maybe there is some way to do this from the command line?

Any tips for making the transfers?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Why not just use File Explorer? should be C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Local\Thunderbird xxxxxxxx being your Windows username

AppData is a hidden folder so if you show hidden folders you can find it. Substitute the drive letter the old drive is using for C

%appdata% is just an enviroment variable that the system uses as a shortcut to C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Roaming

xxxxxxxx is your user account. If you open a Command Prompt and enter echo %appdata% you would see something like this (what shows on my PC).

    C:\Users\ztruk>echo %appdata%
    C:\Users\ztruk\AppData\Roaming

so as clam1952 said, show hidden files and folders then you can browse for it on the old drive. The difference being the drive letter will not be C:, it will be what ever letter the system has assigned to that drive/partition.
