The iso file downloaded to the desktop on 10/3/2018 was approximately 3.58 GB.
It's installed on this computer and created a second recovery partition after the windows partition.
If you have a backup image or no important files then you could use it.
However it seems that the iso could be posted in a google drive, one drive, or drop box share link only for research purposes.
Link just opens to News section?
Never mind I think I found the thread, Windows 10 October 2018 Update now available - Page 57 - Windows 10 Forums

Many thanks gentlemen for your thoughts on the matter discussed. Greatly appreciated.
The thing that bugs me most is such as the following;
Startup fine until approx a few days ago, then there appeared to be a activity on startup, rats in the computer basement I call it. Microsoft Rats to boot. (Sorry about the pun).
In case of a virus, ran full scan with kapersky and Malwarebyte, result, all OK.
I then checked startup with Process Lasso which showed up most of it was Microsoft twiddling about.
No explanation given, help themselves, talk about invasion of privacy. just had enough, hence my reason for starting this post.
I personally have little activated on startup and now getting startup times of 3 to 5 mins.![]()
I've been using Windows for eon's. Literally since Windows 2.0. I've used every iteration, and professionally have setup hundreds of desktops and servers. In 1999 I decided to take the plunge and learn Linux. It was a bit of a learning curve, but after a few years of supporting Linux at work, I was comfortable. I got certified in both Windows and Linux platforms.
4.5 years ago, I wanted to get myself a laptop for at home. I had always had a laptop from work, but was tiring of using my work laptop for everything. At the time, Windows 8 was out, but my wife had a Windows 8 laptop, my kids had a windows 8 laptop and I was setting up Windows 8 laptops at work. I didn't really want a Linux laptop, because I didn't want to tinker with it, just wanted to use it.
So, I bought a MacBook Pro. Sure, it was $1400....BUT then so was an equivalent Dell Latitude laptop that offered a crazy fast SSD, fantastic display and great build quality. That laptop has been absolutely trouble free. It's been through about 5 OS upgrades, never has been reformatted, never had a virus or malware, has probably only been rebooted about 10 times due to unexplained weirdness. And it still holds a charge, and I'm using it right now.
Long story short, all of these OS's (Windows, Linux and MacOS) have their place. They are all great, all pretty darn solid, and all do things just a little bit differently. You aren't going to find an alternative to Windows that is exactly Windows. You have to accept that some things are going to be different.
The regular updates are releases that fix old bugs.
The spring and fall updates are releases that create new bugs.
So ... we can't get the fall update? Yawn! :)
I accept, nevertheless, when you carefully setup your PC to the way you use it, bit disconcerting when there appears some one/thing in the background that was not there previously, to change your settings.
Would you not agree. "Invasion of privacy" springs to my mind.
I'd agree but has been stated in other threads today, MS has built windows for the masses.
Would be nice if somehow we could say. "I got this (I'll manage my machine) and I accept the risks."
That is clearly not the world MS is interested in. The updates are all bundled together, by default drivers are updated without asking and even Pro users are only allowed to defer so long. MS knows best, Ha-Ha.
