Uploading pictures from phone to computer

I have a T-Mobile android phone. I took pictures at my great nieces wedding this weekend and I want to upload them to my computer. I have not had any luck finding out how to do this. Some places say "drag and drop to desktop" which sounds impossible to me. I need help to figure out how to get them from the phone to PC

Use your USB cable and connect the phone to the computer. It should mount like an external drive. You can open and explore it. Create a folder on your desktop and open it, find the pictures on your phone. Then you can drag and drop or copy and paste the pictures from your phone to the folder you just created on your desktop. I hope this is what you were asking.

I'm hooked up with my USB cable, but how do you drag and drop from your phone to your PC? When I try to "drag" they just go up off my phone screen even with the folder I want them in open on my desktop

Your phone should appear as a device in Windows. Open it there, and navigate to the location where the photos reside. Then darg & drop as you would between any two Windows folders.
