im trying to download a game through microsoft store and update my computer but i got a virus a while back and I have learned it deleted my windows update service. things i have tried
sfc/ scannow
adding wuauserv into registry again

Assuming your Windows is clean, you can try using Tweaking.com's free, cautious repair tool (easy to find).
Select only the repairs you think you need e.g. 3,4,10,17, 26
If that doesn't work, consider an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs, data and most settings. Tutorial available in the Tutorial section.
Note: if your Windows version isn't 1809 and you wish to do this, post back.

my windows version is 1803
Hi, because 1809 is now out, it would be a bit of a waste of time doing a repair install of 1803. If you follow the tutorial literally you will upgrade to 1809.
ISO's of 1803 are available, so the choice is yours.
You could simply upgrade to 1809 (manually if it's not yet offered by Windows Update, and you can expect the problem to be fixed.
The option of the initial repair I suggested remains.
