1809 comes with the latest Intel microcode updates, your performance loss may be down to that. See what InSpectre says about your CPU performance.

    Hi,
    MS killed standby memory amount
1709 is half my memory amount 16gb's
1809 shoots it down to less than 1gb and isn't handling it worth beans when I need more thus killing performance.

I didn't say trouble free. Just that I was able to perform the desired update.

After a successful upgrade to a new version, 1803 in your case, as I understand it there is a 30 day 'rest' period before the automatic windows update will see and try to update to a newer features update like 1809. This would be why you aren't seeing it when you check for updates.

As others have said, the Update Assistant should be able to update you to 1809.
30 day rest period? You'd think Redmond would make a little more noise about that - you know, so people won't have to waste time trying to figure out why the update they thought they were getting didn't appear.
