This is probably no help, but I've had the same thing with various of the icons/tiles in my Start Menu. Resizing would temporarily fix the problem. Maybe 6 - 8 weeks ago they settled in on just Chrome, Power Point and Word doing this. Not only on boot or restart, but off and on during the day or night. Always the same three and always in concert. Then with the 1809 / 17763.55 Update the behavior has ceased and has not happened since.
Yes, I noticed from major Cumulative Updates/Creator Updates; the behavior of certain icons changes from time to time. Microsoft is really making it difficult to troubleshoot a system when one of the options is to roll back to a previous build or version just to see if compatibility is an issue or not.

That is ridiculous to have to roll back the whole system just to check the compatibility of a system build versus the compatibility of just one program. It seems you can never tell which of the two it is until you fall back on a restore point or system backup.

Microsoft didn't really think that one through carefully if you ask me.

That is exactly what I was going to point out in my post #11 also. I don't understand how one system can be up to date according to Microsoft and another system is not.

You may want to upgrade using the Update Assistant instead because the Update Tool still reflects version 1803:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

Of course then again, I think Microsoft pulled the 1809 update off the available Update Assistant as well.

I just checked, and it looks like the Update Assistant is rolled back to the April Update again. I guess they released 1809 too early????

I'm running 1809 with zero problems.

Win Key+R and enter Winver and hit enter. You'll get one of these:

That's not all they don't think through. Or test reasonably well.

Sorry. I did wonder why you would be asking that. Maybe the Update Catalog page will have your info http://www.catalog.update.microsoft....px?q=KB4464330 This is the last release of that update.

Yeah, I remember this one. We are the testers now. If their reporting programs (telemetry) pick up on a beta tester release version giving us problems, I think our computers report back when you get the screen: "Windows ran into a problem and we are collecting data or info about your computer and your system will restart."

Something to that tune or other. I understand the risks now, and always have an option or two on the table if worse comes to unreasonably worse.

Curiously enough I got that screen message today, so maybe something isn’t quite right....
