    Location - what controls it,

I have recently changed ISP and have noticed that my location has changed from Sydney (NSW) to a location in Queensland. Who actually controls this? I don't want to use a VPN as this slows my computer.
How can i change My location to it's correct location in Sydney

It's often just your IP they are assigned to ISP and location on phone's it's done by GPS there isn't much you can do to change it

The ever informative howtogeek may be able to help:

I've not set that on mine, and I'm using ethernet, and my isp is in another town, but the Weather app (e.g.) gets my town correct.
However if I ask Cortana for directions, it asks me where I am, and I can't enter anything meaningful there.
It knows the town, not my exact location. I'd guess if I set that in maps, or used Wifi, it would do better.

This MS response suggests using the Weather app to specify location:

This MS article says a default can be set, but not how... until the very end.
