    Mine does not bring up any options about 3 fingers so this does not seem to work for me. I tried clicking off of tapping and apply, but I need to be able to tap. So, still searching for options. This system is so frustrating!

    I gave a solution that worked for me in post #58, let me paste here again:

    Well, I SOLVED in my case. See here:
    - I went to regedit (using Windows + R) and found this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Win10\3FingerGestures
    - I exported the content (as a backup just in case) and then I deleted all except the Default value.
    - It didn't work : ))
    - Then I opened the parent key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Win10.
    - I deleted these values:
    "3FingerTapAction"=dword:00000000
    "3FingerTapPlugInActionID"=dword:00000061
    "3FingerTapPlugInID"="SynTP"
    "3FingerPressButtonAction"=dword:00000004
    - IT WORKED!

    Good luck.

    I may have found a solution. Click the start button and select settings. Then select Devices. Click on Mouse and Touch Pad and scroll to the bottom and select "Additional Mouse Options." This brings up a box that should have the information and name of the type of touch pad your computer has. Mine says "Synaptics Touch Pad....". Click on settings and then in the new box that pops up you should see a tab that says "Tapping". Open that tab and you should then see "Three Finger Tap" and "Four Finger Tap". Uncheck those boxes and then click "Apply". That should take care of it. I'm no computer expert so I hope that's easy to follow. So far I've not had the box pop up anymore.

    Apparently you can open the Search/Cortana box with a 3 finger click and my touch pad must have been getting confused.
    Not all heroes wear capes! Thank you.
    Best regards from Norway.

    If you don't open the tapping option you don't see the three and four finger option, open the tapping option to get the window I showed with the 3 and 4 finger option. Mine has never triggered the search function since I unclicked those options.

    Some versions of the Synaptics driver don't show 3 and 4 fingers options. In my case, Synaptics 7.5 v 19.2.4, there is only option for 2 fingers. In this case, only going to the System Registry (regedit) is possible to remove 3 and 4 fingers options.

    That is really odd, because I have the same version of hardware, V7.5, and driver v19.2.4 as you do. Are you sure you clicked on the arrow to the left of the Tapping category to reveal the 3 and 4 finger options?

    Could be this a case of lost in translation?? :)
    Look at this:

    "Toque con dos dedos" in Spanish means Two-Finger Tap.

    Isn't that interesting that for the same device and same driver they only offer one option under tapping in Spanish but 2 options in English, and the one in spanish isn't even the same as one of the two in english?
