    Syncing One Drive

I have just started exploring One Drive and have already run into a situation I don't seem to figure out.

I have put a Quicken PDF file on One Drive from my desktop. I look at OD from my laptop and sure enough there it is. It is open on both the laptop and the desktop. Then I made changes to that file from the desktop but those changes do not show up on the laptop. The reverse is true also if I make a change from the desktop. Closing the file on both machines and reopening them doesn't get the to show on either machine.

Clearly, I am missing something. Will someone please help me?

    Thank you.

Check the obvious; is Onedrive configured to start automatically when you sign in to Windows and are you using that same account on both devices ? Is the OD folder with the pdf in it, set to sync (if you put it in OD and not in one of the folders, you need to enable the 'files not in a folder' option) ? A pdf sync should be almost instantaneous.

    Thank you mrgeek.

I am just now messing around with One Drive and am well down on the learning curve.

How do I go about setting the folder with the pdf to sync? And likewise setting files not in a folder to sync.

    Thanks again.

Click the Onedrive icon in system tray, then 'More/Settings/Account tab'. Click 'Choose folders' button. Your choices are these (de-select some if space is an issue). Caution, your file can be in 2 places at once; ie-pdf on Desktop and same pdf in Onedrive/Documents. These are different unless you place or copy it to Onedrive. So you can place orig on Desktop to work on, then sync it by copying to Onedrive for use on another device. -

Thank you once again. Cloudy skies are now serene ( HMS Pinafore pun intended).

I have marked the problem solved.
