    Hi,

Region & Language does not show the English United States pack anywhere.

Powershell also does not show the English United States pack.

    Hello MrIndeed,

Check using Option Two in the tutorial below to see if "English (United States)" may be listed as an added keyboard layout for your "English (United Kingdom)" language.

Odd, that it's showing in the language bar, but not shown as actually added.

Do you have any "English (US)" items shown as installed in your optional features?

If your main goal is to get rid of the language bar icon on the taskbar, you could see if using an option below may help.

    Nothing.

I want the Language Bar icon to be gone from the lock screen. Also, every time I create a new account, it defaults to English US.

Was this originally a "English (United States)" version of Windows 10 installed?

The tutorial below will let you see what it shows as your "Default system UI language".

The trick is (although as a Brit I do it the other way round )

    1) add English UK as a language in settings menus

    2) Click on English UK language and ADD English US keyboard

    3) Delete English UK Keyboard

    4) Delete English UK language.

Sorry, I should have mentioned I brought the laptop yesterday. It is a Dell XPS 15. I did set up the installation and remember scrolling to find United Kingdom at the first step.

Ok. Since your command prompt shows the default system UI language as "English (US)", let's check this below:

    1. Open Settings > Region & Language.

    2. Click on the Administrative language settings link on the right side.

    3. In the Administrative tab, see if the "Current language for non-Unicode programs" is set to "English (United Kingdom)". If not, click on the Change system locale button, select it, and click on OK on both to apply.

    No luck.

Language Bar still displays in Lock-in screen.
When creating a user account, it still defaults to English US.
