Which Windows 10 version? Stay or update? (dilemma)

Got a new gaming rig in late august with these specs:

    Fractal Design Define R6 Blackout
ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 8GB DUAL OC
    Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2400MHz CL16 Vengeance
    Noctua NH-D15
    ASUS PRIME Z370-A
    Corsair HX850 850W
    Intel Core i7 8700K 3.7 GHz 12MB Coffee Lake
    WD Blue 1TB 7200rpm 64MB

Been using Windows 10 Enterprise 1803 since I got it and my overall experience have been good except the part when I had to de-bloat it (Enterprise versions should be free from cruft, please have mercy Microsoft)

Anyway, prior to purchasing my new gaming rig I used to run Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016 on my old Intel Core i7 4790K 4.0 GHz 8MB Haswell gaming rig and I absolutely loved that version, clean and stable.

I'm eagerly anticipating the LTSC version coming out this year, it shares the same base as Windows Server 2019 just as LTSB 2016 did with Server 2016.

I know all my stuff works on Enterprise 2018 1803 but it's too bloated and it's annoying having to de-bloat a OS all the time.
LTSC is probably going to be cruft free like LTSB 2016 but I'm not sure how much of a change Redstone 4 to Redstone 5 will be and testing everything again might be a PITA.

I used LTSB 2016 for almost 2 years because the stability and that it felt like a polished release and it feels like 1803 is just another beta release.

My gaming rig is 100% offline and I'm only going to use cumulative updates.

Should I stay with Enterprise 1803 or wait and update to LTSC 1809?

Well Alpha, first, welcome to to W10F.
I take it that you are not a fan of updates and upgrades but which version to use is a very tricky question. Much depends on your use of said computer, it certainly can take anything MS can throw at it.
My "poison" is W10 Pro as it is a middle of the road and provides me with everything I need in an OS. I also regularly use Linux Mint (in dual BOOT) and few other distros in a VM. I'm also an insider in Fast Skippy ring which works (mostly) fine for me although until about a year ago I used to run in professional field (CAD and DP) without any problems even with fast changing environment of beta testing.
    P.S:
My and many other's "secret" for happy use is keeping personal and work files away from system disk(s) and regular meticulous full backups of system and other important files kept offline.

Like CountMike, I keep my files off C: and regularly back them up so if anything happened to the OS I can instantly format and reinstall with no loss.

For a nice system spec like yours I would recommend Pro.

Thanks for your warm welcome and honest answer @CountMike I really appreciate it!

I am not a big fan of updates, but since I got a new system I'm eager to get started with it this fall and start from a clean slate.

Since I'm going to use this gaming machine offline I'm not that worried about Microsoft or any outsider to spy on me and updates is going to be installed with CU .msu files every once in a while.

One part of me says to stay with 1803 Enterprise until next year when 1809 Enterprise LTSC have matured a bit and one part of me says to scratch 1803 Enterprise and go with 1809 Enterprise LTSC right from the beginning.

I'm basing this off my experience with 1607 Enterprise LTSB which were a rock solid OS from day one.

But then it comes down to testing stuff all over again which I'm not that happy about, I don't have the free time that I had 2 years ago.

What's the most logical thing to do?

Why are you running Enterprise ?

Enterprise is for a business, No ?

But anyway, I always recommend to wait at least 3 or 4 months to install the next version.

I think the same logic can be applied to the choice of cars and what extras/editions you want.
Some people prefer the most basic cars and some people prefer better ones that is safer and more luxurious.

As for choosing Enterprise over other editions it's because it gives me more control and simply because I can.

And support for Enterprise is much longer compared to Home/Pro, Enterprise will have 30 months of support soon.

Based on your updated comment and giving it some thought, I think I will actually stay on 1803 Enterprise until next year.

1803 is pretty stable and 1809 Enterprise LTSC isn't going anywhere which gives me plenty of time enjoying my new gaming PC and focus on playing my games (sure been a while since then)

Even though the bloat on regular Enterprise is annoying I have methods of removing it quite easily.

I will however download 1809 LTSC when it's released and then just download the latest CU next spring.

Yes that's what I'll do, thanks for your help!
