    Unable to resize certain dialogue windows

    I have a pretty large monitor (like 32") but I have this dialogue window that came up when I plugged in my SD flash memory card. It takes up about 10% of the screen, wasting the rest. When I hover the cursor near the edges, it changes to a double headed arrow yet when I drag the edges, nothing happens; the cursor moves but the window does not resize. Why does this happen? Why restrict the size of the window? Who does this benefit? Can it be overcome?

    I won't be able to reproduce that particular window. Some system windows are not resizable.

    You might try a 3rd party utility such as
    ResizeEnable: Resize Non Resizable windows in Windows 10/8/7
    https://www.raymond.cc/blog/how-to-resize-an-unresizable-window-or-dialog-box/

    - some of these may be older tools- I've not tried them.

    (feel free to search for others e.g.
    resize unsizable windows
    )

    Just set to not Automatically ask what to do, by clicking on Don't Ask Again. No, you cannot change the size of those alert pop-ups.
