    Recovering Deleted Documents From Computer?

I had some documents on my windows 10 computer where i deleted into the recycle bin and deleted it from my computer. These documents got deleted few months ago i believe. Is there any way to retrieve these documents?
Im not 100 percent sure what these documents are called but i think i have a clue.

Is there a way to recover old documents thats been deleted and if so, how can i do this? I had one or two important documents that i can no longer find on my computer... and that is either due to me deleting it or overriding it with other information and saved it which i doubt. But when you override a document, its impossible to check the previous copies right? However, i believe i deleted the documents in recycle bit and ultimately deleted them. Does anyone have any steps on how i can possibly recover something like this? The thing is im not 100 percent sure of the document name but if i saw name of documents, i can probably take a guess if that is the one.

    Pauly,

You can try this very good utility but, because of the passage of time, you may not be successful. If the hard drive sectors originally occupied by your deleted files have now been reused for other files then you will not be able to recover them.

Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File and Disk Recovery - Free Download

The free version of MiniTool Power Data Recovery (MTPDR) covers up to 1 GB of files/data, and works pretty well. Just reviewed it for Win10.Guru last week: Toolkit Item: MiniTool Power Data Recovery (MTPDR $) Win10.Guru. Also worth checking out, if the amount of stuff you need to recover falls below the "must-buy-the-$$$-version" threshold.

Yes I use Recuva as well.

But you stated that your documents have been deleted "months" ago. The more time that has passed, the more unlikely you will be able to find the files. It also depends on how much you use the computer.
So yes, like stated before, Rule Number 1 is that hopefully Windows didn't decide to write on top of those deleted documents. What I mean by this is that once you permanently delete files (by sending them to the Recycle Bin and Permanently deleting the files from the Recycle Bin), they are still on your computer. Windows, by default (I believe), just deletes the header of the file only, where you will no longer visually see the files on your computer anymore, yet they still are physically stored on the hard drive. But over time, Windows notices files that have been "permanently" deleted may be completely useless and re-write over them. Hopefully your computer didn't decide on over-writing those files.
