Sorry for the long delay in replying (I was called out of town).

I shut off Blue Iris program and Blue Iris service. Then, my computer went to sleep: no drive activity, black screen.

I tried to download the NirCmd files. I'm not a total newb at this, but I could not get either the 32 bit or 64 bit zip files to install properly. I could download them from the website you linked, but they flashed a small window too quickly to read, then opened a window which, when I said "ok", did not do anything.
