    VOLUME and NETWORK buttons in taskbar do nothing when clicked

    When I click on the volume and network buttons in the bottom right of the task bar nothing opens up. Sometimes a brief loading circle appears but neither pop up with a menu. I disabled fast boot but that did not fix the problem.

    Not sure what else to try, thanks.

    Hi, try creating a new user for test purposes.
    If you experience the same then, try an in-place upgrade repair install
    which keeps all progs and data and most settings.

    Note: if your current build is NOT 1803, please post back otherwise follow:
    Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade | Windows 10 Tutorials

    However if these respond when logged in as a new user, then your problem is related to your user profile, and the above will not help.
    =================================

    Do you have any System Restore points created before this started to happen?
    Or do you have any disk images created before this started to happen?
    (We constantly urge users to use disk imaging routinely- often gives a way to recover from bad situations without technical help).

    Otherwise are you aware of any change made before this occurred?

    I had the same problem with my Volume icon at system tray. The following tutorial will fix it.

    Enable or Disable System Icons on Taskbar in Windows 10

    Use Option One :
    Start with step #3 and 4 > click the Download buttons > continue to step #7 through 11.
    Restart computer afterwards, just to make sure.

    I started with the bat file suggestions and that didn't work, tried twice and restarted after each time. Then I created a new test user account and it worked in that account profile. When I logged out and back into mine it started working again.
