Sticky Keys Problem with build 17134.288

Sticky Keys works with Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.
    The way it works is:
You hit the Shift Key 5 times. A prompt comes up that asks you if want Sticky Keys or not. You click yes.

Sticky Keys now how has kicked in. If you hit a Sticky Key (Ctl, Shift, Alt or Win key) a beep sounds.
For example if you hit the Shift Key (let's call this point A)
and hear the beep (let's call this point B).
and hit the i key. It will type I.

This very handy for people who can only type with one hand. Such as me.

This beep is very important because sometimes things get messed up in there.
So instead of a beep you get a blurp.
To fix it you must hit the Shift Key 5 times again.

If you go ahead and type without listening to the beep and you get blurp instead. It will type an i instead of a I.

With Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 the distance between A and B is instantaneous. With Windows 10 Build 10586. the delay was a 10th of seconds. With upgrade to Build 17434 it now takes over a half second. this may not seem like a lot but when you type Ctl+a, Ctl+c, Ctl+v (which I do a lot) and just normal typing, I waste a lot of time waiting for beeps.

I thought I had these upgrades under control but somehow they snuck one in on me. I didn't make Macrium Reflect USB yet.

Is there a way I can go back to 10584. I was perfectly happy with that.

I have another computer with 10584 installed on it.
Can I transfer it to this computer.

If not can I fix 17434 to shorten the A-B delay?

Have checked and several computers are not getting Build 17134.288, latest is 17134.285. Build 17134.288 is not even in the Microsoft Update Catalog yet.

    17434 must be a typo.

Try updating to the latest Build, 17134.285, certainly a possibility the problem has gotten fixed.

    Thank you Barton,

The strangest thing happened. It stared working all of a sudden. It beeped right off and the beep was louder.

When I restarted the commuter the first couple of times after the upgrade, the the circle would spin and it said, "Please wait" then nothing happened, it just loaded normally.

After couple of times that stopped no spinning circle or "Please wait". It just loaded normally.

I figured the original update didn't completely load the first couple of times.

So I ran restart. To see if the beep would hold.

This time the spinning circle and it said "installing updates do not turn off your computer.

After that I'm glad to say that the beep still worked.

However, my Firefox got all messed up.

For this reason I would like to stop all future updates.

How do I make myself administrator? So I can meter the account. Or do you know how to stop updates.

PS. Burton I should give you credit and mark this thread as solved.

Which version of Firefox? The latest fully released [non-BETA] is 62.0. I use the 64-bit version.

    Thank you Barton,

    I fixed the Firefox problem.

When I restarted the commuter the circle would spin and it said, "Please wait" then nothing happened, it just loaded normally.
Afterwards, a notice came up that said, "we were unable to download your update because of your metered confection".

So I installed all available updates.

Now the build is now 17134.285.

    After that:
the Effects & Filters on my VLC player stopped working,
Firefox lost all its taskbar icons and
    now I can't go online.

I can fix all the other stuff but

    The beep is still delayed.

    Most annoying!!!

I don't understand, the beep was working.

Another thing I don't understand is,
When I restart It says, "pleas wait".

Why should I wait if all the updates are up to date.
It never did that before (asking to wait on restart).
