You might see if downloading and merging the .bat file in step 4 of Option Two in the tutorial below may be able to restore your Desktop folder.

As a test, create a new folder named Desktop in your C:\Users\Robda folder, and see if its folder icon turns to the usual desktop icon instead of folder. You may need to restart.
OK, you are on to something! I tried creating a new folder named DESKTOP per your suggestion in Robda user account and Windows asked me if I wanted to merge with another folder named MUSIC. Yes I said MUSIC. Then I noticed that I somehow have 2 folders named MUSIC in user account Robda. When I open one of the music folders, all of my Desktop files are there! So should I simply rename the incorrect Music folder to DESKTOP?

Yes, let's rename the first "Music" folder (without the music icon) back to "Desktop", run the .bat file again, restart, and see how it goes.
