NEWB: No help from the MS Windows Forum in weeks. Desktop misbehavin'

I'll try real hard to make this understandable. As I mentioned is seems the MS Forums on Windows 10 is a hard place to get any reaction.

Issue: I'm gonna say this might have happened 3 or 4 upgrades back. I suspect it anyway. Back then, all of a sudden the desktop will not co-operate. If I have a window up and I click on the taskbar to look at another window previously opened you'd think that window I just clicked on should be looking at? No. It' pops behind the window already up. The new windows selected pops in an out with the cursor and it's mad. if you have 3 windows open. Click on one to view and if another window is sticking out just the slightest pass of the cursor will make that back window pop out and then disappear again in the background.

Also along with this when I click for instance the volume on the tasktray or anything on the tasktray and move the cursor toward it it disappears. This leaves me playing cat and mouse trying to beat the cursor to the pop up before it goes away.

Issue: Probably unrelated but also a few weeks back all my Windows Apps open and just as fast disappear. Now I do not use the Metro Tiles. Never have. I use Classic Start Menu to mimic my wunerful old XP desktop.

All of this just started in the last few weeks and I've had the PC for 4 or 5 years and it's never acted this way.

I hope someone with this forum knows. I can understand as you guide, I've been playing around with computers since the late 80's. I even go into the registry ofen, respecting it, and always doing as told I've never messed the Registry up at all. Do you have help for these . . . for me? I sure would be thanks in advance if you could.

Not sure about the current selected window being in the background, but see the following tutorial for the mouse stealing focus - Turn On or Off Activate Window by Hovering Over with Mouse in Windows | Windows 10 Tutorials

If you haven't already ... you might try re-installing / re-registering your apps - Reinstall and Re-register Apps in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

Thanks for the suggestions. I will follow them and get back. Is there a kudos or any way to give fist bump to helpers here? ":-Dx Jack

Eagle51 that first link followed cured something that has plagued me for weeks, months! Thank you so much! I'll work on the 2nd link too.

Yes, it's the little thumb at the bottom left corner of their post, it lets you give them a 'Reputation' point. Note that once you've given someone a 'Rep' you have to rep 10 others before you rep the same person again.

    Oh, and Welcome to TenForums
