Bree, What is the story with PAINT in Windows 10? I had heard that they were not going to offer it. Now I am told it is an option but it is going to be taken away in the future. What does this mean? You can not use the PRINT SCREEN key on your keyboard or you will be able to still use it (after they do away with PAINT) and if you will be able to still use PRINT SCREEN where does it get saved? To your clipboard? If so will you be able to then EDIT it and save it to your computer as a Jpeg file? I am confused. Now it seems I use PAINT every day. I will print a document then open that document, PRINT SCREEN> Paste> Save as Jpeg> open Jpeg> edit /crop> save the edit. I then use that Jpeg to post on Facebook or send in emails where you can INSERT a photo. Works for me, rather than trying to ATTACH a PDF file.

Sorry @spetho2001, I only just spotted your question.
MS Paint will be removed in a future version of Windows. But MS have said that they intend to offer a free Paint app from the Store that (they say) will do much the same as Paint. See...

Print Screen copies to the clipboard. You can then paste that into any app. You currently paste it into Paint to save it as a jpeg, but you could paste it into anything else, such as adding it as clipart in a Wordpad document.
You can also paste into the new Paint 3D and save as a jpeg, so even if the new Store app version of 'good old' Paint doesn't arrive, you'll still be able to save a screenshot as a jpeg.
The Snipping Tool is another alternative for taking a screenshot and saving as an image file. That too is due to be replaced in the next version of Windows (due out in October) with a new app called Snip & Snatch. From comments Insiders have made, it seems to be an acceptable improvement on the old Snipping Tool.

Bree, Thank you. I have Windows 7 and not Windows 10. You can not view the clipboard in Windows 7? I tried using the PRINT SCREEN function by itself and also by pressing Windows and Print Screen and I can see how you can Paste the PRINT SCREEN VIEW to an APP in Windows 7 like NOTEPAD, Microsoft Office One Note, or Microsoft Office Word but I do not see a way to save that as a Jpeg. It does not give you the Jpeg option in any of those applications. I am using Microsoft Office 2007. I purchased the CD. Am I missing something. I have not spent a lot of time on this yet.

Bree, OK I see how you use the Snipping Tool to Save as a Jpeg but I don't see the Save as a Jpeg in any of the other tools.

You have to paste the clipboard content into an app that can handle it, like Paint did. Programs like IrfanView, Adobe Photoshop, Wordpad, Word, etc. When you pate the screen capture there, you will then see what you captured and can then save it in one of many different formats, jpg being only one of them.
Edit: If pasted in Word you would save it as a Docx file.

You could never paste an image into Notepad.
You can use Paint 3D to Paste into from PRINT SCREEN save as JPG or whatever, and Image Applications like IrfanView and Paint.NET are free alternatives, there are others in the MS Store, the old Paint application is being moved there as well.
Currently the Old Paint application is still there, with a blue i note that it is being moved.
Thus you have quite a number of options, you loose nothing. No idea what you are worried about.
