Asus computer consistently freezes; pausing screen and keyboard

My computer has been doing this since Thursday. It's been hard to manage as it comes unexpectedly and the only method to reset it is to turn off my computer. This is the model I think, I got it refurbished but this never happened in the beginning. ( https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-15...B&gclsrc=aw.ds)

No other button except the off button works when this happens. Here's a video for what happens Asus computer freezing issue? - YouTube

What should I do? Thank you

    Hi Mia10

What changed just before this started happening, did you install anything the day before, new AV or change settings?

Did Windows perform any software updates or driver updates? You can go Start > Settings > Update and Security > View update history

    Drivers are listed at bottom.

Last week both Chrome and Firefox were updated. Think FF was around Thursday.

Which browser are you using, have you tried an alternate?

Does it happen when you are not using a browser?

Others things you can do on a software / hardware level

Run sfc /scannow to command prompt(admin) or powershell (admin)

run chkdsk c: /r to command Prompt(admin) or powershell(admin) please back up personal data before doing so.

    Test your memory

I think I restarted it sometime this week (maybe wednesday), and that there was an update on tuesday, and it's been happening since thursday, so I think the update may have caused the freezing. I tried to go on the asus download center and download the drivers, and I tried to download a vga driver for the x541na Model (I got the inital model wrong, it's not the amazon one) but it said it needed an app to run .318 file. I downloaded 3 other drivers, (1 "chipset driver", 1 "card reader" driver, and 1 "lan" driver), but none of them seemed to change the freezing. I then tried to update the drivers through the device manager, but it repeatedly said that the update was complete and they were fine, but the computer continued to freeze. Then my computer said there was a new update after the one from tuesday, and now sometimes it'll freeze at the login screen and it'll take me 5 tries before it lets me enter, only to freeze up 15 minutes in if i'm lucky. I've tried switching to firefox before the update to see if it'd do anything, but it seems to be something about the computer rather than any apps. I'll try the command prompt and see if it works. Thank you all for helping me figure this out, I hope we find a solution.
