Windows Explorer uses wrong type of date in one directory

All my Windows directories look the same in Explorer: name, date, type and size. Just the default.

However, in one directory there is a problem: the dates never change. When I look at the properties of the files in it I see that it is showing the date of creation instead of the date of the last change.

What causes this problem. And how can I correct it without extensive customization of this directory?

Hi, perhaps you could post a screenshot e.g. similar to this?

Which date field exactly isn't changing?
Can you confirm what file type this applies to, and how you are making the change to the file?

    Thanks.

Hi, I'm guessing you're referring to the "Datum" column in file explorer.

As that's not English, and it doesn't appear to be specific, please have a look at the column selection options and see which you have selected.

Here I've shown two different data columns. You will note these have two word names.

If you right click the column heading you should see a list of selectable columns.

Taking guess here with German translation. Each Explorer window can have it's own custom column headings. The screenshot you made of this particular one has a column heading of Datum (Date). Notice dalchina's pic. Date Modified in German would be:

    Datum Geändert

Right click the column heading and choose the Date Modified instead of just Date. Or keep them both.

f14tomcat: thank you. I guess that is the only solution. But I stay puzzled how my windows could lose its settings.
