Yes, I tried that for the second post. I disabled all but Chrome.
Any 3rd party AV program like AVG, Avast...etc?

I didn't have any AV program installed, I just put on AVG anti virus and it got 30 virus - mostly malware. But the big lag after the windows logo/before the lock screen is still there. Windows 10 runs very quick apart from that though.

You could request for support in Anti virus section of this forum, one of the experts might be able to help remove any infections.

I have tried a few things and I think its the graphics card that is causing the problem. When I go to device manager and disable either the AMD Radeon HD 7400M Series or Intel HD Graphics 3000 and do a reboot i get a very poor resolution on the screen but it goes to the lock screen almost immediately (like 5 seconds). When I re enable the AMD again it takes around a minute. I checked to see if I have an up to date driver for both and it says I have but its not working smoothly.

My first five boots were like that, but then I got an error for C++ Runtime, and I rebooted again, and it went right to the lockscreen. I tried power off, and on, and it was instant again. Hmmm

thanks for the reply ! I disabled all but chrome from the startup list but no changes. I don't think I have any virus but I will run the scan. I think it must be a Microsoft problem and not my machine.
After trying everything I did a upgrade repair and that fixed it :)

I got a solution to my long boot up time :

    open regedit
    search for EnableULPS
    change the value to "0"
    reboot

Go to the start button, choose run, then type msconfig and press Ok.
On the system configuration window, choose the "Boot.INI" tab.

Check “No Gui Boot”, then lower the timeout to a more manageable time (or keep it at zero)
