Quick launch toolbar folder is removed periodically

My Quick launch folder disappears from the taskbar after using CCleaner. Is there a special assigned place, or a registry setting for this folder not to be removed from the taskbar?

Stop using CCleaner all of the time. It is actually a "Shortcut" toolbar. There is no need to use any tool like CCleaner on a regular basis, unless you are running into a infection issue. At that point, you have bigger issues.

@bro67, I use CCleaner to clean up the app caches & browsers which together grow to nearly a GB within a day or two. I process large text files and 1,000's of image files for Wikipedia/Wikisource and Wikimedia Commons. In addition, CC removes hundreds of unprotected cookies which stick to the browsers like barnacles.

. . . And yes, the Quick Launch toolbar is a shortcut bar, but you didn't bother to mention how I can prevent it from being removed from the taskbar, so your response is non sequitur.

Best guess is it's because of this option here.
( if you have it checked that is )

You can also go in here.
    C:\Users\UserProfile\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar
And copy your items, if they happen to disappear again, you can quickly restore them.

xTL, thanks for the CCleaner reminder and for pointing out "C:\Users\UserProfile\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar" folder. Everything is working fine and the Quick Launch toolbar is no longer affected by the cleanup process.
