    Orchestrator error

Since install of the1803 (17134.228) this error pops up each time a cumulative update completes...

The Update Orchestrator Service service terminated with the following error:
This operation returned because the timeout period expired.

Just a curiosity, why? Am aware that it's related to Windows update, and it is seen on two W10 PCs.

Here's an interesting discussion on the Spiceworks forums that pins this one on scheduled update hours as the most likely culprit. Check it out at [SOLVED] Stopping Windows 10 From Restarting After Updates Against GPO Settings - Spiceworks.

    Thanks Ed,

Changed the update hours, but the result was the same after today's CU. Will keep an eye on this odd but insignificant issue.

Had looked over those links, Ed. Just reset WU, per Shaun's BAT file. We'll see if that makes a difference when the next CU rolls out. Thanks.

Do please report back with whether that fix works or not. Not only do inquiring minds (mine, for example) want to know, but other people with the same problem will definitely want to know, too. Thanks!

No change after the 9/12 update - after active hours had been set to 6AM-12AM and WU had been reset.

This issue first appeared with the latest major build, and may vanish with the next.
