It all started from performance improvement Intel has installed in their chips while AMD didn't and that's why Intel processors had better memory and single thread performance comparing to AMD's FX (Bulldozer) processors. It's reasonable to expect lower performance once that advantage was removed. Thing is that it doesn't affect all software but only those that take advantage of those features.
The thing is, Count, that Intel lied to us when they said there wouldn't be a performance hit; and when that hit was discovered, they changed the license so no one could out the performance hit.

And, by the way, AMD discovered the same problems with their processors, but continued to say they weren't compromised after learning same. Kind of a lie by omission.

Except those were 2 different problems, Intel and AMD because of different architecture.

True, but the same thing; one is an outright lie and the other is a lie by omission.

Sounds a bit like VW with their emissions testing !!!!!

although in the case of VW they were definitely lying through their teeth as the fiddled results to comply with EU emissins tests.

Did top people working at VW in USA go to jail over this BTW? just curious.

I think VW paid a lot out in class action Court cases.

    Cheers jimbo

Dunno, but I'd guess no one went to jail. Lots of fines, probably; I think hitting the whole company in the pocket book is much more effective than sending one or two baddies to jail.

I don't trust Intel. They say some of their HD Graphics don't support Windows 7 / Windows 8.1 But you have to add a few lines of code to the driver and it works perfectly fine.

Intel's Management Engine is a security hazard, and users need a way to disable it
    Hi,
Intel security and management which is a rebrand of mcafee last I read lol so can anyone be surprised it bites
