Cannot run any exe file , from side-by-side configuration incorrect

I cant load any exe file, including downloads and apps, is it a bad problem or ?,

I have all my work stuff on here, and I don't want to loose it, and defiantly not now. Iv tried all I can and all that is shown online but it wont work, it was fine earlier as I was on here doing a commission for my friend, I logged on about 3 hours later switched on my PC and nothing would work, but a few apps, most of the apps are exe, iv been to the event viewer as instructed from one of the websites and a few videos and nothing, then I tried the tracking thing on " cmd (administrator) " and I thought it worked until when on step 5 it said to "download the missing or corrupt file " I tried to download the one I needed and it wouldn't work because the download was an exe file

please if you know how I can fix it let me know

    thank you,

Yes, it's a problem as most all Windows-based programs run from an .exe/executable file. A number of suggestions will be found here fix exe at DuckDuckGo and I've had good success with the one from Bleeping Computer.

I tried again and it loaded it said everything would work now, but when I tried to open one of the apps I know didn't work it just said

    C:\Program Files (x86)\FireAlpaca15\Firealpaca.exe
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

    again like it did before.

Press the Windows and "R" keys simultaneously, type "cmd", press and hold the shift and ctrl keys and press "Enter". Accept the "Allow this program to make changes", then when the command prompt opens, type "sfc /scannow" and press "Enter".

System files sound like got corrupted, for some reason. A basic first step. This will take 20-30 minutes, depending on your machine. Be patient.

At an Admin Command prompt, paste this and hit enter. It will attempt to find and correct corrupt system files.

    SFC /SCANNOW

Well, I would suggest an In-Place Repair using a mounted ISO from MS, but that requires running setup.exe. Catch-22. Next alternative would be a Reset. It would keep ALL your files and data, but you would need to re-install your apps.
