How to re-download/re-installWMP 12? It's NOT in Optional Features!

I've always hated Windows Media Player, so after I installed 64-bit Windows 10 Pro (EN-US - NOT N or K), I uninstalled WMP 12 and was happy. But now I'm trying to install a new application called PlayOn Desktop, but it always fails because I don't have WMP installed.

    I'm running release 1803.

I've tried using Programs and Features in Control Panel and then Optional Features in Settings, but there are absolutely no entries relating to "Media Features" or any kind of media player. I've also tried downloading from Microsoft and attempting to install WMP 12 for Win 10 "N" editions, but that refused to install because I don't have either the "N" or "K" versions. I also tried some MSU file for WMP 12 support, but that didn't work either.

So where can I download the EN-US version of WMP 12 that I can install in my Win 10? Note that this is NOT an easy question...

    Thanks!

ETA: Please, please do not suggest a repair install of Windows 10! I've spent MONTHS setting up my system exactly the way I want it, yet even a repair install will massively screw me over!! I'd far rather kill myself than re-install Windows 10!

Note: This is NOT a solution to install WMP 12

I use an alternate very simple alternate media player which plays everything and is straight to the point. It's a 3rd party app that is small and simple. Opens quick and plays everything. I got a good understanding of many IT things about computers, hence I recommend this player: Home . MPC-HC

It is your choice to try it out and see for yourself. I loved this program since it was released and will always use it as my media player.

Thanks, I agree but I already use that and VLC all the time. Like I said, I hate WMP. But this new application will not install without WMP already installed, so I have no choice but to do that,

Have you looked under Media Features in Turn Windows features on or off?

Many thanks to swarfega and sandipnd, but as I explained in my OP...

I've tried using Programs and Features in Control Panel and then Optional Features in Settings, but there are absolutely no entries relating to "Media Features" or any kind of media player.
I have seen and repeatedly tried that procedure many times, but there's nothing like that present anywhere, and please believe me when I say I know what I'm doing. I've found "wmplayer.exe"in the following folders...

    Code:
    C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-m..ayer-core.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.17134.1_en-us_08fc4f7d4acc5196\wmplayer.exe.mui

    C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-mediaplayer-core_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.17134.1_none_f0ea4f76b8441f7f\wmplayer.exe

    C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-mediaplayer-core_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.17134.48_none_04fb7303293cb980\wmplayer.exe

    C:\Windows\WinSxS\wow64_microsoft-windows-m..ayer-core.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.17134.1_en-us_1350f9cf7f2d1391\wmplayer.exe.mui

    C:\Windows\WinSxS\wow64_microsoft-windows-mediaplayer-core_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.17134.1_none_fb3ef9c8eca4e17a\wmplayer.exe

    C:\Windows\WinSxS\wow64_microsoft-windows-mediaplayer core_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.17134.48_none_0f501d555d9d7b7b\wmplayer.exe
And I've tried copying the contents of one of those folders to the default location of WMP under Windows 10, but unsurprisingly, that didn't work. I couldn't set up the registry entries required because I have no idea what data to insert and where. That's why I need an installer.

    Thanks for your replies, however!

Here's a list of the wmplayer.exe files on my Win10 Version 1803 Build 17134.228 [latest]:
    Attachment 200076

Could go to https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/id-Apps_Features/ and do a Search for Windows Media Player, several suggestions there.

Thank you, Berton! Your list of paths is a helpful contribution I'll probably need that info if I'm ever going to succeed with this very difficult problem.

And I appreciate the link, but all I could find related to WMP are the instructions already given in this thread, which do not work for me.

    Best regards!

Have you checked this? It's in a different area of Optional Features, not Programs and Features.
