    Who cares?

    You want to fix your specific installation don't you?

    Then fix it/restore it and after you can play with testing of the efficacy of system restore compared to other solutions.

    It is obvious you need to uninstall your graphics card driver so why not try doing that.

    Then going off into to other tests (if you feel it is interesting) you can do on your own time

    You thing is a problem with the driver?? I think the system is corrupted somehow..

    I asked about the restore detail because I am trying to fix the restore operation so I can succeed.

    Have you read my previous message?

    If you restore back though you'll restore back your previously working driver.

    I thought you had no backup though which is why I said it.

    I don't think its a driver, I just used some windows with the method I described. Unfortunately, now I'm stuck at the dots screen so I can't even get to the faulty logon screen.

    If only I could get to it like before and try to run windows media tool as my user...

    I doubt it man. You can replace registry with last known good configuration but in my experience it never works.

    You have been banging on about this for days. In my opinion you should (unless you are really interested in testing things) just give up and reinstall. It only takes 20 minutes.

    If though you want to try and figure it out I'll be more than happy to try to help and add my opinions.

    I enjoy it - just in your position it might not be the best solution (even if it was interesting).

    The clean install is an option as you commented that you could move the drive to another working computer.

    Other options include :

    Kyhi boot rescue:
    Windows 10 Recovery Tools - Bootable Rescue Disk

    Ubuntu/Linux
    Create a bootable USB stick on Windows | Ubuntu tutorials
    https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/3180...ur-windows-pc/

    Macrium boot repair:
    Fix Boot Problems

    Please post the images of the commands and results for the bootrec commands.

    Sorry, no pics, they're in spanish anyway:

    fixmbr -> success
    fixboot -> access denied
    scanos -> 0 os detected
    rebuildbcd -> 0 os detected

    Any way to perform an in place upgrade without booting??
