As soon as I hit a key or move the mouse, it disappears.

As far as I can tell, no opened programs have been affected. Everything appears to be working normally.

Disable Active Care in System Mechanic. That worked for me.

Yesterday a new update came through (18.0.2.486). I re-activated Active Care. So far, no crashes.

Looks like iolo has finally fixed the problem with their latest update.
