    Windows 10 download

Well, I am still waiting for my download to come in. I am just a little anxious to trust the Windows 10 download to my new Lenovo B50-30 desktop- i7 12 GB with 1 TB. I already saw the Windows 10 drivers, etc for my machine on the Lenovo site. But am still anxious.
Anyone having any problems with the download yet?

Also wondering if we really need Cortana for it to run right. I really do not want a personal assistant.

Hi, Carol5xy, If you upgrade install Windows 10, you should have the option to roll back to your current operating system. If you are real concerned I would do an image with an imaging program like Macrium or Paragon (both Free) and store it on an external drive. It shouldn't be necessary, but better safe than sorry. As for Cortana, you can enable or disable it. Cortana - Turn On or Off in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums .

I'm still waiting for one of my computers just to see how the update through the GWX icon works. I used the Media Creation Tool to upgrade the other 4 computers. It was very simple and worked very well. If you would like to use it instead of waiting, this will tell you how. Windows 10 - Upgrade Installation - Windows 10 Forums

Did I answer all of your questions? If not or if you have a problem, just post back. It's always a good idea to back everything up. I did but didn't need it. But, I back up often anyway.

Check that you have your system is fully up to date with Windows Update (the Windows 10 update is part of this).
Once your machine is ready the download will begin.

If it doesn't stop/start your Windows Updates service. Reboot then run wuauclt, exe /updatenow.
