Deleted Desktop Folder Stays in Desktop

I've been trying to delete folders on my desktop but They won't delete. Files are deleting just fine but when I try deleting a folder, it gives me this processing tab:

and "completes" the deletion but the folder never ends up getting deleted. It can be opened, viewed, etc. It only gets deleted when I drag the folder over to the recycling bin.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Click on More details. Grab the entire window and post it, see if that provides and more info.
Also, before deleting a folder, right click one one and select Properties. Look around in there and see if anything looks strange, especially the Security tab.

    Third Party Program approach:

    1) Download a free program called LockHunter: Download LockHunter 64/32 bit For Free
    2) After you install it, right click on a folder that you want deleted from your Desktop, and press: What is locking this folder?
    3) That program may say something about what's locking the folder from not deleting, but possibly won't say anything.
    4) In the program, press the "Delete it!" button
    See if that works?

Like @pepanee I, too, was going to suggest LockHunter. If it doesn't work you will have to boot to alternate media (Windows Recovery media, the Macrium Reflect Rescue Media, Kyhi's Rescue Disk, or something similar) at which point you can delete the unwanted folders at the command line.

I use Unlocker instead of Lockhunter. Just right click on it and select Delete. If it can't delete it now, let it do so on the next boot.

I remember using Unlocker a long time ago and it was good, until it starting having issues with more later versions of Windows.

As on the site, the latest version of Unlocker is: 1.9.2 (which was released on 5/16/2013).

I'm still using it on 17134.191 and the latest Insider build 17738 and it works with no problems.
See My Computer for my system specs.
