Thank you for letting me know, I'll get it updated when I get home. It probably doesn't matter too much. It's hard to keep track of so many screenshots

Also thanks to bree for the pms which I can't reply to yet due to not having my account for long enough

I just tried changing the desktop.ini file to desktop.old as you suggested and that has successfully brought back my C:\users\reece folder, so that is now solved.

I just made a text file in my camera roll and saved pictures folders in the C: drive Pictures folder and these haven't appeared in the folder on the D: drive Pictures folder.

As mentioned previously, when I took a picture on my webcam it was saved to the camera roll folder in D:, however my Screenshots with WinKey+PrntScrn correctly save to C:, so it seems the folders are just messed up a bit.

Finally, how do I edit my previous posts with my name in? I can't seem to find an edit button, though I doubt it matters too much really.

@RBS95, have you found where the text file actually got created? Knowing that would determine how to proceed from here. TreeSize Free will show the true layout of your drive, unencumbered by the redirections that Explorer employs to give a 'friendly' view of your files. I use the Portable Apps version
    TreeSize Free Portable | PortableApps.com.

Screenshots works correctly because you made it after you'd repaired the location of Pictures, so it was made in the correct default location,

There is an 'Edit post' link at bottom right of each of your posts, click on it. In the editor, beneath the text box in 'Additional options' there's a 'manage attachments' button. Click this and a new window opens. The attachment(s) in your post are in the lower section, each one can be removed by clicking the X in its top right corner that appears when your cursor is over it. If its image still shows in the text editor box, select and delete that too just like you would for a text string.

I'm not sure I understand. The text file was created in C:\users\reece\Pictures\Camera Roll and C:\users\reece\Pictures\Saved Pictures. Not sure how to use TreeSize correctly, but it also shows the text files in those folders.

The edit post button is there for my most recent post but isn't there for any before then

That may, like your ability to reply to PMs, be something you'll get when you meet minimum requirements for time you've been registered and/or number of posts you've made. I'm just an ordinary registered user like you, but I've been around for a while longer. Not sure if I always could, but now I can edit any posts I made, right back to my first ones in 2016 (I've just checked).

If you want to delete the screenshots without the need to edit the posts, then you can do that in your Settings. Attachments are near the bottom of the index on the left under 'My Settings, Miscellaneous'. Tick the selection box to the right of the one(s) you want to delete, then click the 'Delete selected' button at the bottom. This link will also take you to that page: https://www.tenforums.com/profile.ph...ditattachments

Good, it appears that Camera Roll and Saved Pictures are physically located in C:\users\reece\Pictures\ because TreeSize Free says they are. Explorer can display a logical view that doesn't necessarily represent the physical layout. for example, Pictures, Videos and other 'special' folders will appear to be in C:\users\reece\ regardless of which drive they are actually on.

The next question is do the ones on C: work as they should. In post #33 you said...
Out of interest I took a picture on my webcam to see where it saves and it goes to the Camera Roll folder in the pictures folder on my D: drive.
    Does it still do that?

If so, do the relevant entries in..
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
...still point to D: for Camera Roll and Saved Pictures as they did in post #7 ? Try setting them to %USERPROFILE%\Pictures\Camera Roll and %USERPROFILE%\Pictures\Saved Pictures then test again to see if the webcam now correctly saves to C:

If it does, then I think we are done and everything is working normally.

Sorry for the late reply, just finished a few 12 hour shifts at work so haven't had chance to get onto the PC. I just tried that last step in regedit and after a restart that seems to have solved it. My user folder is now correctly labelled reece, and now my webcam pictures are saving to c:\users\reece\pictures\camera roll instead of D:\pictures\camera roll.

With that all resolved, I'm assuming I'm fine to just delete the D:\Pictures folder now?

Thanks again for all your help, I really appreciate it. I'll wait for your response and then I'll mark the thread as solved

    great news.

Yes, the D:\Pictures folder is redundant now. Just check that all the photos it contains are duplicates of the ones in your now fully functional Pictures folder. If there are any that just exist on D: then copy the ones (if any) you want to keep to the C:\Users\Reece.... folders before deleting the D:\Pictures folder.

I think I just did in post #35

This thread may have already been instrumental in inspiring one tutorial...
How to Remove a Screenshot or Image from TenForums.com Post
...I'll see if I can tidy mine up and submit it...

EDIT: for better or worse, I've taken up @dalchina's sugestion and now submitted my first tutorial proposal....
