Watching videos from pc and viewing on TV

I have the HDMI connected from TV to graphics card HDMI. I'm I suppose to have it there or on the HDMI on the computer? Also having it connected to my graphics card, all that shows on TV is my wallpaper from PC. How do I get to start viewing a movie from the PC? I used to use Allshare but since windows 10 it won't work and they discontinued the program. I used to be able to play a movie in the videos through the Allshare program and watch it on TV, sound and all. Is there anything out there now that I can do the same. My husband doesn't like watching movies on the PC monitor.

You will have an option to Duplicate, Extend or display only on the second screen.

You can use Extend but you will have to move the window from the laptop screen to the TV and just full screen it there, or display only in the second screen (which is your TV) and just full screen it there.

You lost me, I have no idea what you mean. I'm looking for something that works like ALLshare did. All I had to do is have a movie in my video folder, set the TV to Allshare and select pc, videos, and select my movie. Samsung discontinued all those kind of programs and have smart view but my TV is compatible. And it's my desktop not laptop.

You have Two monitors, the Computer monitor, and your TV. You have set the display for Multiple Displays to Extended These Display in the Display Properties or video card control panel. In other words, if you start a windows on the computer monitor, but don't maximize the screen you can Grab the title bar and drag it to the Right and it will show up on the TV.
If you want to have the same Display on both screens (ie) start button, taskbar etc, In the Display Properties, choose Duplicate these Displays. (See Attached(

Ok I got that but how do I start to watch a movie on pc so it shows up on TV? Ok I figured it out. Right click on video and click on cast to device.
