Icons Won't Stay the Same Size in Quick Access

Hi folks. I'm a longtime Windows user (since 3.1) and decided to get into a forum again. I have an odd problem:

The icons in the Quick Access folder keep reverting back to the Tiles setting no matter how many times I change them to a larger size. I can set them either with the menu at the top of the window or with CTRL Mouse wheel. But if I click away to another folder and then go back, they have returned to Tile size again.

I've tried unpinning and then repinning the folders. I tried moving them to another location temporarily. I tried clearing %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations. None of it has worked.

Ideas?

In File Explorer I set the view I want, usually Details. Then I click the View tab on the Toolbar then go to Options, its View tab and choose one of the 2 buttons at the top, one makes all Folder be seen the same, usually retains that view.

I also started with Win3.1 running on MS-DOS 5 in my first computer, 80386/40MHz 4MB RAM 120MB HDD in Aug. '92. Win95 was when they started the merging of the OS into the GUI.

I'll give that a try, thanks. I remember those things. The first computer I ever used was an Amdhal 470 through a phone cradle modem. My best elementary school's mom was a computer scientist where I grew up. I still use an 80s vintage IBM Model M keyboard with my new workstation.
