I would be very wary about disabling any Microsoft service. The problem is that some services do more than what is officially documented, which ones of course being undocumented. There are Internet guides that claim knowledge of this (I will not mention any) but they are guessing. They have been known to guess wrong. And with Windows 10 this can change from one update to the next.

In the past I have disabled some Microsoft services. This caused some problems that cost considerable time and effort to resolve. I have no desire to repeat the experience.

I would not disable any Microsoft service unless there was a specific need to do so.

Yes, it's safe to disable these. Make sure to disable the related Scheduled Tasks too.

I have disabled some services and have changed startup type for some to Manual or Automatic (Delayed Start) on my system. You just have to be very careful with what services you choose to disable while also remembering what services you've changed startup type for. I am not experiencing any problems on my system. However, it is best to backup your system or at least create a System Restore point before you go ahead and do so. Here's a guide to which services you can disable on your system. Do it at your own risk.

The startup types may also be reset to their defaults after updates and so you may have to revisit them again.

The below list can be helpful when you need to revert to the default startup types for services

Additionally, you can also disable services or change startup type to Manual for services pertaining to applications and driver packages such as but not limited to nVIDIA (telemetry service,) SQL Server (don't want it starting up with windows and hogging memory when not used; will have to create scripts to start and stop manually,) FBackup and Macrium Reflect (if you don't use scheduled backups,) Visual Studio (don't need it to startup with Windows,) etc. As lolnothankyou mentioned in his/her post above, you should also disable scheduled tasks either through Task Scheduler or the AutoRuns program. Some of them get restored automatically after an update or some when you simply run them (, in which case, it's better to just let them be.)

I would use "Turn Windows features on or off" to control services where possible e.g. fax.

I only disable third party services using Autoruns. Best of luck if you fiddle with the remaining services since there many be undocumented consequences.

Make sure to read comments in the comments section of the above YouTube video to check if the disabling of certain services mentioned in the video causes problems.

Non-MS services you can disable no problem. For services set to Manual, it doesn't matter at all. For Manual (Triggered Start) best to check what triggers them and what would be impact.
Most important part is why do you have to disable them, if it's for resource savings you can see in Task manager what resources they use. Never do multiple changes, only one by one and check consequences. Finally, don't do anything until you have full system backup.
