    Can I safely delete install.wim?


    I'm cleaning out unnecessary files and folders and came across my C drive. Since I have created my own custom recovery partition, can I safely delete this install.wim that is currently setting in my C drive and using 9GB?

    install.wim is not a file you normally find on you C: drive. Where exactly are you finding it?

    I don't have it on mine and have never seen one on any of the systems I've worked on.

    "Install.wim" is a Windows Installation (Setup) file that comes with in the Windows Installation Image or media. It's not a system file. So i think you might be looking in a Installation media Drive.
